‘Best Food Event of the Year’!

Electric Nights Streetfood wins best food event of the year

food event

Last night (Thursday 3 November) the pride of Devon’s food champions congregated at Sandy Park, Exeter for the annual Devon Life Food and Drink Awards, which was compéred by DJ Simon Bates.

Representatives from Mid Devon District Council were present at the Awards Ceremony as Electric Nights Streetfood won the award for ‘Best Food Event of the Year’. Zoë Lentell, Event Manager, collected the Award and offered thanks to all who voted, adding “we would like to thank all our traders, visitors and supporters that make our event the success it is.  This award is for all of you.  We delight in showcasing the local talent from our community, including food and drink produce, musicians and dance groups”.

Cllr Richard Chesterton, Cabinet Member for Planning and Regeneration, said “this accolade is a great triumph for Tiverton and the wider Mid Devon area. It demonstrates the abundant food talent that Devon offers.  The competition was fierce and we congratulate the runners up, Powderham Food Festival and Fishstock Brixham, who are equally deserving of the award”.

The Devon Life Food and Drink Award is the second award won by Electric Nights, with them achieving ‘Best Small Food Market’ from NABMA (National Association of British Market Authorities) in January 2016. The next event is a Christmas themed evening on Saturday 3 December at Tiverton Pannier Market.
