ELECTRIC NIGHTS STREETFOOD EVENTS RETURN TO TIVERTON MARKET ON SATURDAY 7 MAY
Calling all food lovers! Electric Nights Streetfood is returning for another summer of food, music and family fun at Tiverton Market.
The award winning events take place on the first Saturday of the month from May to September with a Christmas special in December. Each event follows a different theme, with May’s celebrating Love Your Local Market (a national campaign) with the colour scheme of pink and blue.
Every month will see an array of quality, local food and drink delights, all prepared by producers across the South West. In addition, there will be a selection of live music from local bands and artists as well as entertainment from local community groups and cookery demonstrations from Petroc College’s Catering Team. There are also activities for children including chalk drawings, face painting and an inflatable slide.
The dates and themes for this year’s events are:
- 7 May: Love Your Local Market (pink and blue)
- 4 June: 20’s Flappers Theme for the Queen’s 90th birthday
- 2 July: Summer of Sport (Wimbledon, football and summer beach)
- 6 August: Rio Carnival
- 3 September: Around the World in 80 Flavours
- 3 December: Candlelit Christmas
Richard Chesterton, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said “these events are a fantastic asset to Tiverton. People travel to Tiverton to enjoy the food and music on offer. In January, Electric Nights Streetfood won the NABMA award for Britain’s Best Small Food Market and this is credit to the high quality products on offer. We have been overwhelmed with interest in these events from traders applying to take part. The event team has selected the best range to provide a diverse and tasty offer each month”.
The streetfood events benefit from FREE entry. They run from 5:30pm to 9:30pm and are fun for all the family. Come along on Saturday 7 May for an enjoyable night out in Tiverton’s Town Centre!
